MORE TREASURES FOUND
by Ruth Deaton (Arkansas Democrat - Editorial Page)

Re your recent feature story "Hidden treasures": I am a long-time fan of Antique Warehouse in Botkinburg, having done business with Don, his brother Lyn and all the crew since its opening. It consisted of one building at the time and Don had a partner who later moved back to the West Coast.

I remember when I coveted a trestle table and commented that I would purchase it but had no way of getting it home to Morrilton. Don hollered to Lyn in the back, "Don't we have a truck going to Van Buren tomorrow?" Lyn responded affirmatively. Since I would not be there, I gave them the location of the spare key. They delivered the table for me the next day, setting it in just the right spot in the dining room. Don left me a note telling me that he hoped I didn't mind that he had looked at the house while he was there because he liked the design so much.

Another time I purchased a buffet, also delivered while I was gone. This time the note on the door said that the overhanging trees on the lane had kept their huge moving van from getting through, so they had left the buffet on my mother's porch next door. (Mom had also enjoyed many an hour at the warehouse). Recently, Lyn and the crew built a frame around a large stained glass window and delivered it to me in Little Rock.

As you can see, the exquisite antiques are not the only treasures at Antique Warehouse.
